Test delivering your messages at different times during the day or week. People may respond better in the morning or during lunch breaks or after work.
Use various sender names-such as your brand name or a short code-as they may determine credibility or immediacy of the message.
A proper A/B test is simple, just follow these steps:
What is it that you want to improve? Is it more clicks? More replies? More sales?
One thing is always changed at a time (like CTA, wording). That way, you can easily observe what change brought about performance adjustments.
Write two versions of your SMS. One line each with a clear and direct call.
Select a small but equal number of people to receive each version. For instance, 200 persons are to be sent Version A and 200 others Version B.
Use your SMS system's analytics to study which version had more engagement.
When the data tells you which one definitely wins, send the winning one to all members of your audience to ensure maximum results.
Regular testing: What works today might not work in a month.
Keep testing simple: In one test, never test multiple items.
Track results carefully: Observe the click-through rate, the response rate, or the sales number.
